Hidden behind a solid facade of the old city of Geneva, Espace Muraille is a new venue that regularly hosts exhibitions of contemporary artists of international renown presented by Caroline Freymond. Until the 28th of April the historic walls of this vast home will host “Objects defined by the activity”, a series of sixteen pieces of Olafur Eliasson.
Espace Muraille has previously highlighted the works of Monique Frydman, Shirazeh Houshiary, Tomas Saraceno, Sheila Hicks and Edmund de Waal. Project initiated at the initiative of Laurence Dreyfus and designed in close collaboration with Olafur Eliasson and his studio, “Objects defined by the activity” identifies the essential parameters of the artistic repertoire of the artist. Light, water, colors and dialogue with several new installations designed specifically for the place, and masterfully staged. “Olafur Eliasson’s interventions allow each time to take stock of the space in which we evolve in a more responsible and committed way. Beyond the purely aesthetic seduction of the works presented, the exhibition offers visitors a procession of reflections and sensations related to places, transformed by sensory experimentation, ” said Caroline Freymond.
