In San Tirso, Portugal you have the pleasure to see two white modern museums that are situated beside each other. The two buildings are different in style, its size and general purpose as they were constructed three centuries apart, however they do share common visual and spatial sensibility. Winners of the Pritzker Prize architects Alvaro Siza Vieira and Edurado Souto De Moura collaborated together on the design for the Municipal Museum Abade Pedrosa (MMAP) as well as the new Contemporary Sculpture Museum (MIEC). As you can see by the photos, simplicity was at the centre of attention. The new MMAP museum occupies certain parts of the Monestery of Sao Bento. The museum also consists of an atrium, cafeteria, administration offices, documentation centre and computer centre.
