Last September Disney announced that it’s joining forces with director Jon Favreau in order to create a reinterpretation of one of its biggest classics, ‘The Lion King’. The announcement came shortly after the tremendous success of Favreau’s live-action remake of ‘The Jungle Book’, which made close to $1 billion USD in revenue and won multiple prestigious awards.

Recently Jon Favreau took it to Twitter to announce that Donald Glover will be voicing Simba, by posting his picture with a caption “I just can’t wait to be king. #Simba”. Half an hour later he also posted a picture of actor James Earl Jones, who voiced Mufasa in the original film back, with a caption “Looking forward to working with this legend. #Mufasa”.

Currently, no release date has been publicly set for ‘The Lion King’, but if you’re feeling nostalgic next month you will be able to see a reboot of ‘Beauty and the Beast’.
