The Air Jordan 11 is one of Jordan Brand’s most coveted models, and its low iteration seems to be continuing its almost annual summer roll out with the “Closing Ceremony”.
Following the Cherry 11 Low and Navy/Gum versions that dropped earlier in the year ( which can still be found at some retailers ) these might just be the most sought after Jordan of the summer. Featuring a white tumbled leather upper and a metallic gold patent leather wrap, along with icey out-soles and pods of black herringbone traction, these are almost reminiscent of the DMP 11. The gold Jordan 11 has been a hugely sought after concept since Usher rocked a pair of all gold highs on stage in 2014, Jordan Brand is now giving the people what they want.
The only barrier to these becoming an instant sell out is the potential for them to be unwearable due to the obvious flashiness that comes with such a bold colourway.
The sneaker is one of many released by brands such as Nike and Adidas that fits the theme of the Rio Olympics, which kick off this coming Friday. In addition to this we have seen a return of the Air More Uptempo, Air Force 180, Foamposite 1 and an “Olympic Alternate” Jordan 7. The Alternate 7 will release on August 16th, in the middle of the Olympic proceedings. The release date of this sneaker comes 6 days after the August 21st closing ceremony. Watch out for a potential change of this anticipated release date if Jordan brand looks to match the date up with the theme.
Having already released in Las Vegas last week, those with a big enough budget can get a pair before the general release day on aftermarkets such as eBay or StockX. Look for these to be in store on the 27th of August for around €170.
