Festival Footwear 101

Festival Footwear 101

With festival season just about to kick off things such as sun cream, hip flasks and bucket hats are top priorities. Often overlooked is what’s really going to take the biggest beating during the madness, your kicks.
To get a head start on the game and avoid some misery, here’s our quick list of sneakerhead commandments, “The Do’s and Don’t’s of Festival Footwear”.

Don’t
Wear sandals. This is self explanatory. We don’t need to see those toes.

Do
Wear black, or at the least something dark. It hides the mud, and whatever else you might happen to walk through.

Don’t
Break out some fresh white Adidas NMD’s. This always ends in tears, we get it, they’re cool, but please leave them at home for this one.

Do
Protect yourself. Invest in some Crep Protect, Liquid Proof or Jason Markk Repel, anything really. These save lives.

Don’t
Put your filthy sneakers through a washing machine. If you’ve ever wanted to see the various parts of your shoes disassembled in front of you then washing machine them. Simple

Do
Bring an extra pair of socks and shoes if you’re camping. Ever spill a drink on your shoes and walk around in them for a day? Wouldn’t recommend, come prepared.

Don’t
Go barefoot at any point, unless you like stitches, the choice is yours.

Do
Buy yourself a pair of Pennies plimsoles if you don’t have any beaters lying around, €10 spent on these is better than €100 to replace your favourite shoes.

Don’t
Be that guy with bags on your feet. At the end of the day, it’s a shoe. It’s not that deep.

Hopefully these tips save you from some mishaps over your summer season, if we missed anything let us know in the comments below!
