Warner Bros. has released a trailer for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming World War II drama movie ‘Dunkirk’. This is the final sneak-peak that we get to see before the movie officially hits the theaters on July 21.
‘Dunkirk’ is set to be an epic war story showing a frantic evacuation of 400,000 Allied soldiers, who were surrounded by German troops during the Battle of France. Having majority of their forces tied, and fleet unable to navigate in shallow waters, Great Britain was in a grave danger of losing the war. Evacuating this amount of people was possible only thanks to the civilian flotilla and its last moment rescue.
The trailer called ‘The Time Is Running Out’, shows British troops being pinned down by German air force. Many young soldiers (including Harry Styles in a cameo role) are shown desperately shoot rifles at the airplanes to no avail. When the military fleet arrives everything situation seems to settle down, just to be brutally torpedoed by German submarines.
‘Dunkirk’ stars Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance and a 19-year-old Fionn Whitehead in his acting debut. Tom Hardy plays an RAF pilot who is trying to keep German planes off the beach. And in case you wondered if he’s wearing something on his face… Of course, he is.
