Kendrick’s latest album ‘DAMN.’ has just surpassed 600,000 album units sold in its first week, selling over 100,000 copies more than Drake’s ‘More Life’. It’s K.Dot’s third album to reach the No.1 spot on Billboard charts, and by a large margin in comparison to the previous ones. ‘untitled. unmastered’ sold 178,000 copies in its first week and ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ sold 324,000 copies. Kendrick’s ‘good kid, m.A.A.d. city’ failed to achieve that feat losing to Taylor Swift’s ‘Red’ back in 2012.

‘DAMN.’ sold 353,000 physical copies, while 227,000 were streaming equivalent. This is quite impressive considering that digital sales usually account for more than half of total album sales.

The album has also achieved the highest first-week sales numbers since Drake sold over 1.04 million of copies of ‘Views’ last April.

Stay tuned for out full review of ‘DAMN.’ coming in the next couple days. Meanwhile you can enjoy Kendrick’s latest music video for ‘DNA.’
